The 209 & Friends Xmas Compilation is a 4 fun cassette tape venture w/ the goal of compiling & distributing a double sided cassette of original &/or cover xmas songs produced by residents of Stockton, past & present.
R E Q U I R E M E N T S
To participate in The 209 & Friends Xmas Compilation, you must have at one point lived in Stockton, or have physically touched Sam Regan i.e. high five, handshake, etc. This clause allows for the participation of certain outside parties, being as SR is one of our most well traveled residents.
All submissions must be under 2:30 in length due to limited space on the tape. Shorter song lengths are preferred (if there's not a lot going on in your 2:30 second submission, i.e. dead air, boring extended jams, try to edit as much as possible). While 2:30 is our suggested cut off length, submissions that exceed this limit will be reluctantly accepted as long as the song rocks enough & if there is enough room left. alternately, song lengths can be as short as 0:15. Feel free to experiment with short jingles & quick raps, etc. Multiple submissions may be accepted based on the amount of free space available on the tape.
This is an Xmas Compilation, so all submissions must be about &/or inspired by Xmas or The Spirit of Ho Ho. All genres of music are accepted. Rap, Rock, R'n'B, Soul, Electro House, Neo Soul, Jazz Fusion, Jpop, etc.
All submissions must be in either MP3 or WAV file formats & must be emailed to the address @ the bottom of the page w/ the subject formatted as "209 XMAS: Song Title".

The 209 & Friends Xmas Comp isn't just for professional musicians & producers! QUALITY DOESN'T MATTER. Making songs is easy & home crafted submissions are more than welcome.
If you don't know much about audio production but want to participate check out THIS SITE for a great FREE audio recording software known as "Audacity". Audacity is completely free and will allow you to layer & mix audio tracks w/ ease. Most laptops will come stock with an on-board microphone, & while they may not yield the best quality they will surely suffice.
Once you have finished composing & producing your submission, save & export it as either an MP3 or WAV file format with the title of the track & email it to the address below w/ the subject line formatted as "209 XMAS:Song Title".
F I N I S H E D P R O D U C T
All submissions will be shared via a stream-able, free 4 download Bandcamp album & made available for purchase on a physical cassette tape. All cassette orders will be assembled by hand upon request & orders will be fulfilled as soon as possible. All contributors will receive a FREE physical copy of the cassette.
